EmiratesRE has conducted a “Technical Accounting for Reinsurance” workshop at its offices in Emirates Financial Towers, DIFC. The workshop was over 2 days on the 10th and 11th August 2015 and attendees from EmiratesRE were joined by delegates from Al Buhaira National Insurance Co., Dubai Islamic Insurance & Reinsurance Co., Al Sagr National Insurance Co., Orient Insurance Co., Noor Takaful in UAE, Oman United Insurance Co. in Oman, Tawuniya in Saudi Arabia and First Takaful Insurance Co. in Kuwait.
The workshop was presented by Mr. Natarajan Murali, Chief Executive Officer from Asia Run-Off Management in Kuala Lumpur, with an additional session devoted to Shari’a principles on Takaful models presented by Mr. Hany Helmy, EmiratesRE Actuarial Manager.
The workshop covered all aspects of reinsurance accounting and included a number of case studies and practical examples where delegates could raise questions and debate particular topics of interest.
