  • Jonathan Cimino


    Jon Cimino is the Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Group. Since joining Dubai Group in 2008 he has also held the posts of COO and Managing Director, Finance. His responsibilities have covered financial management, debt restructuring and asset management.

    Cimino is an investment banker and a stockbroker having spent a large portion of his career as head of Investment Banking, CEO and Country Head of SBC Warburg and UBS in New Zealand. During this time, he worked extensively on privatization mandates for the government of New Zealand. Upon leaving UBS in 2001 he formed his own boutique investment bank, Cimino Partners, which undertook various M&A and capital market transactions including acting as Lead Manager for the IPO of the New Zealand Stock Exchange (NZX). He has formerly been a public company director in New Zealand for listed companies in the transportation, environmental, biotechnology and private equity sectors.

    He currently represents Dubai Group on the boards of Acacia Investments in Bahrain, EFG Hermes in Egypt and Lafarge Emirates Cement in the UAE.

    He holds a Bachelor of Finance and Administration from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.

  • Ahmed Mahmoud Abdullah

    Ahmed is currently a senior Director within the Private Equity team of Global Capital Management Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Global Investment House (Kuwait).  Since 2006 he has been a member of the investment committee of PE funds and co-manages Global opportunistic Fund I.

    Ahmed has represented the PE team on the Board of Directors of a Takaful Company in Kuwait since 2007.  He is also a Board member in a Healthcare Group based in Jeddah since 2010.  Previously he was a Board member in educational and logistics companies in Kuwait,

    Ahmed has more than 17 years’ experience in Banking and Financial services.  Before joining Global Investment House he was Head of Banking sector of the  Investment Banking team at Piraeus Bank, Egypt.

    Ahmed holds a Masters Degree (Risk Management) in  Banking and Financial Science together with certificates in Portfolio Asset Management & Islamic financial analysis .

  • Fareed Lutfi


    Chairman of the Risk and Audit Committee

    Fareed Lutfi serves as the Secretary General, Emirates Insurance Association, the Secretary General Gulf Insurance Federation and a director of Al Fajer ReTakaful Insurance Company KSCC.

    Fareed is currently serving as an Independent Board Member of Gulf Warranties, in Bahrain and Board of Skandia International Middle East based in DIFC.

    Previously, Fareed served as Group Director, Insurance Services, at Dubai Holding and President of Dubai Insurance Group at Dubai Group.

    Fareed also served as Chairman and Senior Executive Officer of DHIS (a captive company based in DIFC), Vice Chairman and member of Reinsurance Committee of Dubai Group Sigorta, Turkey. Board Member, Audit Committee member and HR Committee member of Oman National Investment Corporation Holding, Board member and Chairman of the Audit Committee of National Life & General Insurance Company, both based in Oman and Board Member of Gulf Assist, based in Bahrain.

    Fareed previously served as General Manager and Consultant of Dubai Islamic Insurance and Reinsurance Company (AMAN).

    He was the Director and Chief Executive Officer of Alliance Insurance Company, Dubai. Fareed was a Board Member and advisor of Dubai International Financial Centre across the spectrum of insurance and reinsurance pillar.

  • Munir Hassan Taher, FCCA, CFA


    Munir Taher has over 15 years of combined professional experience in asset management, private equity and corporate finance. In 2007, he joined Global to assist in managing USD1bn of proprietary investments spread across various asset classes through out the region.

    In 2009, he became part of a special task force to set up a USD1.5bn fund to facilitate Global’s first round of debt restructuring and subsequently played a key role in raising ~USD200mn in realization proceeds during the first year of the restructuring to service debt obligations.

    He later played a similar role in the successful conclusion of Global’s USD1.7bn second and final round of restructuring in 2013 and co-led transformation of principle investments division into a new asset management business pillar with an AUM of USD500mn.

    The Special Situations Asset Management applies a value driven divestment strategy through proactive roles in portfolio companies facilitating USD270mn in realization proceeds at exit multiples exceeding 1.6x to agreed target values.

    Munir has represented on the board of several companies such as Al Razzi Holding (Kuwait), Emirates Retakaful (UAE), Saudi Yemeni Healthcare (Yemen), Bindar Trading (Jordan), CNBC Pakistan, CNBC Africa (South Africa), Murdoch University (UAE) and JS Global Capital (Pakistan)

    He began his career in Kenya working for several large institutions in the corporate finance department.

    He obtained his Fellowship from the Association of Chartered Accountants from UK in 2001 and became CFA charter holder in 2015
